South Cumbria Rivers Trust (SCRT) pollution incident reporting map

All incidents must still be reported to the Environment Agency incident hotline 0800 807060 first. They are the regulatory authority.

South Cumbria Rivers Trust (SCRT) have designed a pollution incident map for the public to record local pollution events in our rivers, lakes and becks. Making pollution reports visible for the first time, SCRT aim to inform water quality improvements in South Cumbria through the collection of this data.

Water quality is deteriorating due to various forms of pollution including nutrient inputs. After reports and feedback from the community about repeated pollution events including a lack of visibility to inform individual action to do more, SCRT have developed a system to help empower people to make changes and do more to protect their local watercourse/s.
